Bruce has more than 50 years of experience in international rural water supply.  He has a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell; a Master's in Economic Development from Harvard; and a Ph.D. in Business from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.  In 1972, he co-founded Agua del Pueblo (The People’s Water).  Agua del Pueblo has helped more than 1,000 Guatemalan communities and their 500,000 residents construct water supply and sanitation systems.

He was a faculty member at James Madison, Western New England, and Furman Universities.  He continues to bring students and Rotarians to Guatemala to study Agua del Pueblo’s operations. Before entering academia, Dr. Clemens had 25 years of management experience working for USEPA, an environmental Advocacy Group, Bechtel Environmental, and the National Academy of Science.

His presentation will highlight his career, especially his time in Guatemala and other environmental work.
